Balfour Park

3103 SE Balfour St., Milwaukie, OR 97222

Balfour Park is located on a .8 acre plot of undeveloped land in the Ardenwald-Johnson Creek neighborhood. The plot was purchased by the City of Milwaukie in 2008. Future development of the park will endeavor to retain the existing character of the space, while providing an environment that will invite both active and passive recreation.

Big Changes Are Coming!! Thanks to funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 and advocacy by State Senator Kathleen Taylor and Representative Karin Power, plus notable fundraising by the Ardenwald/Johnson Creek Neighborhood Association and Milwaukie Parks Foundation this park is now largely, if not fully funded!

The money raised by the Ardenwald/Johnson Creek Neighborhood Association and Milwaukie Parks Foundation came from nearly a decade of annual plant sales held to raise funds for the park. Through the hard work and dedication of members of the neighborhood association and the MPF Board of Directors (most crucially, Lisa Gunion-Rinker, who tended the plants and organized these sales with love and commitment), $22,603 was delivered to the City of Milwaukie for park development in November 2023!

The previously developed master plan from 2015 has been revised (see link below), and construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2023. Click the button below to follow the details and timeline for development of Balfour Park. We hope to celebrate its completion in 2024!

$22,603 goes to the City of Milwaukie for development of Balfour Park, thanks to the Ardenwald/Johnson Creek Neighborhood Association and Milwaukie Parks Foundation!
